For those of you who grew up with The Sound of Music… this post will have special meaning for you. I don’t have a lot of pleasant childhood memories, but watching The Sound of Music every year with my Mom is one of the dearest memories I have. Now, I can share those memories with my daughter.
The Sound of Music first opened on Broadway 50 years ago this month and quickly became one of the most popular and enduring musicals of all time. In celebration of the 50th Anniversary, Sony Music has released the 50th Anniversary Special Edition of the Original Cast Recording: The Sound Of Music along with Simon & Schuster’s beautiful The Sound of Music: A Classic Collectible Pop-Up. I was sent the Pop up Book to share with my daughter and to share with all of you. To this point, Cinderella has been my daughter’s favorite book… that is until tonight when I shared the music and book with her. If The Sound of Music touches you personally, this is something I highly recommend to build family memories!

Oh my goodness. The Sound of Music is and has always been my very favorite musical! In fact, my husband gave me the special anniversary edition a few years ago and I shared it with my then daugther, 2-1/2 years old. She LOVED it so much that she very soon memorized the song "Do, Re, Me, Fa…" and would break out in song everywhere we went including restaurants & stores…always to the amazement of the guests around us. I never had heard or seen the book. Would love to WIN it. Blessings!!!

The Sound of Music was one of the holiday movies I watched EVERY year as a kid. I introduced it to my daughters last year and they love it too. Thanks for the chance!
My daughter and I made a trip to Europe in 1992 and one of our stops was Salzburg,Austria. Of course this is where "The Sound of Music" was filmed and it was thrilling to be in the places where many of the scenes were filmed.
