When news broke last week that Kroger was stopping it’s doubling/tripling of coupons in all North Texas area stores, it was met with a lot of disappointment. People blamed the “extreme couponers” for the change. But according to CouponSherpa.com, Kroger may just be testing out a new policy.
When Kroger stopped this practice in Houston earlier in the year, they said it was to move the discounts from coupons to overall savings on groceries.
You can still find stores that double/triple coupons. If you are ready to make the change to another stores, here is a list of those stores.

Janet, you are right… Tom Thumb is owned by Safeway. That was an overlook and we know better! Sorry!
What?!?! Lacey – are you serious that both of the Albertson's in Denton are closing? The one off of I-35 near Golden Triangle Mall?
Based on my research, the Kroger Corporation does not own the Tom Thumb in the DFW metroplex. They are owned by Safeway, Inc. The Kroger Company owns a chain of Tom Thumb convenience stores, not affiliated with the Tom Thumb grocery stores.
Brookshires also doubles and triples. The albertsons here in Denton, TX are both closing leaving only Brookshires who will continue to double and triple. While it is smaller, I would possibly look at those coupons that would double or triple to purchase those products there.
